SF Open Studios

Welcome to the 34th Annual SF Open Studios!

open studios image

The goal of ArtSpan's SF Open Studios is twofold:

  • To allow local emerging and established artists the opportunity to open their studio doors and show their artwork in a democratic forum
  • To provide the art-loving public with the opportunity to enjoy art at its origin and to start a dialogue with artists that may lead to the start of an art collection
As the largest and first open studios program in the country, SF Open Studios showcases a multitude of artists, styles, and mediums that may lie just around the corner. Explore San Francisco and the Art Made Here each October. Click here to view the 2008 SF Open Studios Artist Survey results.

The first weekend of the month is dedicated to ArtSpan's celebratory kick-off events at the SF Open Studios Exhibition, followed by four weekends that feature open artists’ studios. The city of San Francisco is broken up geographically, allowing each weekend to feature artists' studios in a different part of the city. Start your self-guided art tour and hit the pavement with the SF Open Studios Guide.
